Articles 7,8

ARTICLE 7

Duties of Officers

Section 1. President: The duties of the President shall be to preside at all meetings; be an ex official member of all committees; appoint committees (standing and special committees to be appointed within thirty (30) days of installation); countersign checks; she/he shall not approve payment of bills for special activities without the approval of the body. In the event of a vacancy occurring in an elected office, the President shall appoint within thirty (30) days a Past President to fill and serve the unexpired term, except for the offices of the President whose duties are automatically assumed by a Vice President.

 Section 2. Vice President: The Vice President shall assume the duties of the President in her/his absence or disability. She/he shall preside at all meetings. She shall get intouch with the President for all information to be dicuuesd prior to that meeting. She is a official member of all committees. 

 Section 3. Secretary: The Secretary shall keep in a book for that purpose, a complete and permanent record of proceedings of all meetings of the Auxiliary. She/he shall prepare a mailing list of member auxiliaries (periodically forwarding news letters to those who do not have e-mail): mail to each member auxiliary,  condensed minutes of meetings, respectively, including motions, amendments to Constitution and Bylaws, and financial reports.

 Section 4. Treasurer: The Treasurer shall receive all monies and give receipt therefore and deposit said monies in the bank within ten (10) days; pay all bills on orders signed by the President. Report financial transactions occurring from meeting  to meeting, with an annual report printed in the procedure book. Treasurer’s report shall be condensed for the minutes as the report printed in the procedure book is complete for the year. (Each item to be clearly identified). Receive all bank statements, this officer will not be voted on or change unless the person who is holding it decides she don’t want to do it anymore. However, if there is reason she is determined to be neglecting or abusing her office, than she can be removed by a majority vote of the membership.

 Section 5.Public Relations: The Public Relation will do all advertising, flyers and promoting of all fund raisers. If help is needed it her job to ask for it. Is responsible for ordering flowers, for funerals ect. Spouse, Children, Parents & In-Laws, Siblings, Grandparents, Grandchildren. Unless we are going in with the firefighters than we let them take care of ordering them. And take care of the signs at the north and south station.

                                      ARTICLE 8

Amendments

Section 1. The Constitution & By-Laws may be amended by written ballot at yearly meetings by a vote of two-thirds (2/3) of the delegates present and voting; provided the amendment or revision has been submitted in writing to all members of the auxiliary thirty (30) days prior to opening of meeting by the Corresponding Secretary.

 Section 2. Upon a motion carried by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of all auxiliaries present at any meeting or at the discretion of the President, a committee of at least three (3) to revise the Constitution and Bylaws shall be appointed.

 Section 3. All amendments passed at meeting shall be printed in complete form in the procedure book, on a separate page under the heading of "New Amendments."

ARTICLE 9

DRUG AND ALCOHOL FREE DEPARTMENT POLICY

 

Section 1. Three Rivers Fire District is committed to a safe, drug free department for all its members. The illegal use, sale, dispensation, or possession of drugs while on or off Three Rivers Fire District Property is prohibited and is subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

 

Section 2. Three Rivers Fire District will have a Zero Tolerance Policy when it comes to drugs and alcohol.

 

Section 3. No Member shall be on Three Rivers Fire District property for a minimum of eight (8) hours after their last drink.

 

Section 4. This policy will be enforced not only by the Ladies Auxiliary but also the Fire Chief or Board Members.

 

Section 5. If you are suspected of drinking alcohol prior to arrival on TRFD property you will be asked to leave Three Rivers Fire District property. If you fail to do so we will bring Law Enforcement in to remove you.

ARTICLE 10 VOTING PROCEDURES – All voting members must be within good standing with the Ladies Auxiliary. A majority vote will rule any debate.

The President shall not vote except in the case of a tie. Voting shall be by a show of hands. Proxy votes and/or ballots will not be recognized (Ballot votes are only to be used at the December meeting when electing officer or at anytime a member is in review of there membership.)

ARTICLE 11: UNDERSTANING THESE GUIDELINES

All members current or just joining will receive a copy of these guidelines and sign that they have receive a copy. These guidelines will be followed at all times. Anyone who does not sign and follow these guidelines will be subject to forfeit there membership with the Three Rivers Fire District Ladies Auxiliary
